Canadian golfer Brady McKinlay of Lacombe, Alberta continued his winning streak by winning the Argentina National Amateur Championship. He and teammate Felix Bouchard won the Terre Haute Cup for Canada a week ago.
McGinley played four outstanding rounds at the Martindale Country Club in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He shot impressive rounds of 62, 67, 66 and 34 for a total of 23 under par. The final round was shortened to nine holes due to the weather, but McKinley’s dominance was still evident as he carded a 34 to seal the victory.
McKinley’s margin of victory was an astonishing 15 strokes, with Paraguay’s Erich Fortlage finishing second at eight under par. McGinley took a 14-shot lead into the final round, but he cemented the title with three birdies and a bogey.
The victory concludes a two-week trip to Argentina where McGinley showcased his exceptional talent and solidified his status as one of amateur golf’s rising stars. Currently ranked 287th in the World Amateur Golf Ranking, McGinley’s recent victory is a testament to his potential to reach the next level in the sport.
