We will launch a special series of two issues to focus on Britain’s experience in serving the trade field.
The service trade sounds professional, which is actually closely related to our lives. When we talk about global trade, the first reaction may be the circulation of physical goods, but in fact, digital technology, professional services, cultural activities, etc. may be the object of trade, which are collectively called “service trade”.According to statistics from WTO, in 2023, one -fifth of the world’s trade is service trade, and this proportion of Britain exceeds 50%.
With the rapid progress of China’s service trade, Britain’s rich experience in this field has become more valuable. It not only means that many potential cooperation opportunities, but also the stone of other mountains worth learning from.In these two episodes, we will pay attention to two areas that we are very familiar with, and see which pits in the UK and how much Know-How have accumulated.
In this issue, we are concerned about sports events. This is the field of long -term attention of “Commercial is this”. We used to calculate the account for the Olympic Games and the World Cup to see how much money these two top events can make. But there is a problem that has been suspended and unreasonable: how much can the place of sports events make from it?The question of a deeper step is: What is the interactive relationship between cities and sports events? Why do cities need sports events?
Britain may be one of the most concentrated markets in the world’s top sports events. In this episode, we start with three British cases to explore this problem:
At the micro level, we pay attention to the story of a stadium and a community; At the level of view, let’s see how a city rely on sports competition to revive; At the macro level, let’s see how much money has been made from London in recent years.
Thanks to the British Ministry of Commerce and Trade for their support for this program.
